The Lost Studio RV!!!

Here she is....

The "NEW" (to me) Lost in the Woods Studio RV that I have nicknamed "Martha Stewart's Bunker."

I thought the name suited this 1996 29' Minnie Winnie perfect because at this point I have 

art and art supplies 

EVERYWHERE!

I am getting settled into it and believe it or not I don't miss my regular house one little bit!

In fact I start to giggle (like right now) when I think of all the places I will be visiting to inspire my watercolor paintings and polymer clay sculptures!

Summer is well underway here in the "Golden Heart City" of Fairbanks, Alaska and I LOVE the warm weather!

I have found that since I have moved into the Studio RV, I am a "Tourist" in my own backyard. 

In the next few weeks we will be heading on down the trail...

THE ALASKA HIGHWAY!!!

The last time I drove it, it was BEAUTIFUL and I saw TONS of magic between Buffalo, NY all through Canada up here to Fairbanks, Alaska!!!

Not sure how it happened, but it's happening...I am a traveling artist!

A Commercial?! HOW COOL!!!!

My niece came to me the other day and asked me if I needed a commercial for my clay works, because she had an assignment in her Video Productions class.

I never thought about how cool that would be...So of course I immediately said: YES!

I wanted to share with everyone some still shots from our scene set-ups.

In the next few days, after she is done with her editing I will be posting her AWESOME video here to share with everyone!

    My niece, Jay has a natural knack for video production (she is only 17!). She has a SUPER keen eye and excellent timing...AND LOVES to have fun the entire time!
As we set up each scene we kept throwing ideas back and forth to one another and it was a...
T-O-T-A-L BLAST! :)

The theme is essentially the beach and ocean with that one of a kind "Lost in the Woods Studio" quirkiness to it...Unique...Silly...Sometimes serious.....BUT ALWAYS FUN!!!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter from all of here in the studio...WOW!  Is it Easter already?!

It sure has been awhile since we posted, but there is SO much happening with our Lost in the Woods Studio that we have just lost track of time!

Hmmm, an Easter Turtle? What would make us think the two would go together? Well although they are completely two different BEAUTIFUL creatures (the rabbit and the turtle)....

What they have in common is....EGGS!!! (Hehehe...Well, sort of) :)

We have been SUPER busy creating wonderful little baby turtle hatchlings adorned with special colors and decked out in jewels! These little critters are AWESOME! (and our little sculptures we hope you will find just as AWESOME as well)! :)

We would also like to announce that our studio is almost mobile! And when we say mobile we mean 

M-O-B-I-L-E! 

The studio is loading up into our new motorhome so we can travel around and bring our work to the people!  Maybe teach an occasional class and share with others who share a similar passion for polymer clay!

That's just CRAZY! 

Yes, it is.... But also FUN! A traveling sculpture studio...SWEET! We think its the best idea EVER!

We will also be offering our watercolor works in the VERY near future!

Extinct IS Forever!

The first three of the "Extinct IS Forever" series is done!

and we are SO happy to share them with you...

From left to right is the Kakapoo Parrot (only 150 left in the world), the Javan Rhinoceros (only 40-60 left in the world) and the Amur Leopard (14-20 adults and 5-6 cubs).  :(

Love is in the Air!

Ahhh yes, LOVE...
And it's that time of season to gear up here in the shop for Saint Valentine's Day!
We hand sculpted 3 special little "Phat Baby Manatees" for just this very special day dedicated to the loves in our life.
Let us introduce you to: "Love Makes A Difference," "You Are Always Pretty My Love," and a re-intro to "Mi Amore."

Each little "Phat Baby Manatee" is an original, hand sculpted little piece of art and each is carefully hand stamped with TONS of love and attention.

We also would like to take this opportunity to announce that we are also starting a new series we are lovingly (and sadly) calling "Extinct IS Forever." Which will be coming out within the next few weeks here.
Our baby manatees have a few new buddies including (SO EXCITED).....
"Phat Baby Rhinos!" (SO ADORABLE)! and the rest is still in the development stage of sketches!
We can hardly wait to share them with you!
Each baby will have hand stamped into them the words: "extinct is forever..."
Such a sad thing, but its our way of raising a bit of awareness to this worth fighting for cause. With each passing of a species from humans destroying their habitats...a piece of us is destroyed too :(

Happy Babies!

"Phat Baby Manatees"

Ahhhhh, look at those faces! Who can resist baby critters? NOT US! :)

Manatees are AMAZING animals and we wanted to create little versions of our "adult "Phat Mantees!"

Just like our bigger sculptures...Each one is different, ALL hand sculpted with tons of LOVE!

Lost in the Woods Studio is gearing up for the Saint Valentine's Day holiday by sculpting a few pieces just for the occasion. 

The first is our Phat Baby Manatee we named "Mi Amore,"  which means "My Love" in Italiian.

The words "Mi Amore" and "Amore" are hand stamped around the little phat baby manatee.

Red glitter is embedded into the clay and the pearl ex powders give this little sweetie a really pretty golden amber hue.
